Guided Tour

Dahlstrom Ranch Caving

Join Hill Country Conservancy and fellow EPIC members for a cave tour at the Dahlstrom Ranch. The Dahlstom Ranch is HCC’s newest conservation easement located in the recharge zone of the Edwards Aquifer in Hays County. This guided cave tour of Hobbit Hole will be led by Julie Jenkins, local cave expert. Throughout the tour, you will learn about the formation of area caves, their role in the Edwards Aquifer system and an “in-depth” look into how water travels into the Aquifer. The HCC staffers have personally tested this tour and certified that it is indeed awesome, so join us for a unique experience you won't soon forget.

Logistics

Dahlstrom Cave Tour

Be prepared to get dirty as you crawl and climb your way through this cave 50 feet below the surface. This tour is best for those who are comfortable in somewhat confined spaces.  We have 2 groups scheduled, and each is limited to 15 participants so as always, first come, first served on the sign up. All equipment will be provided, but be sure to wear closed toed tennis or hiking boots, long sleeves and long pants, as you will be crawling around in dirt and mud.
